GSM Feature Codes

GSM Code Scheme and Passwords

Most of the codes given below follow this pattern. With enough use, you will learn to know what each means:
  • * activate
  • ** register and activate
  • *# check status
  • # unregister
  • ## unregister and deactivate
Some service providers will also let you change your passwords as follows:

Change Call Barring PIN code: **03*oldPIN*newPIN*newPIN#
Change SIM PIN code: **04*oldPIN*newPIN*newPIN#
If you have never set a PIN before, try the usual default of '0000', '1111', or the last 4 digits of your phone number. If none of these work then contact your service provider. Note that the PIN is not the same as the Call Barring [code] given in the Call Barring section below.Call Forwarding

GSM supports four different types of Call Forwarding or Call Diversion. These are:
Forward all calls
Unconditionally forwards all calls made to your phone to another location, such as another phone number or voice mail. This setting, if activated, overrides all other types of conditional forwarding mentioned below.
Forward if busy/engaged
Forwards calls to another location if you are using your phone and you have either disabled call waiting or if you are in the process of making an outgoing call.
Forward if no answer
Will forward calls to another location if the call is not answered after a set period of time.
Forward if unreachable
Forwards calls to another location if the handset is off or outside a service area.
The table below gives the call forwarding codes. Hit [SEND] after any command. Some of these commands may be accessible on your handset's menu, but this varies between handsets and service providers.
[dest] refers to the destination number, if long distance remember to add the appropriate prefix codes; [sec] refers to the delay in seconds before forwarding the call. Minimum 5 Maximum 30 in 5 second increments only (i.e., 5,10,15,20,25, or 30; default is usually 15).

Most people will arrange to forward their voice calls to a voice mailbox number. For Canadian Fido customers, you can enter the number "3436" (this spells FIDO) into the [dest] field and this will set the local voice mailbox access number automatically for you. If you are unsure what your local voice mailbox number is then contact your service provider.
GSM also supports call forwarding if you hit the end key on an incoming call. This is particularly handy if your phone rings and you either can't or don't want to answer it. Hitting the [END] key will automatically forward the caller to whatever number you have set up to forward to under the "forward if no answer" or "forward all". If you haven't set up call forwarding and hit the [END] key during an incoming call then your caller will hear an initial ringing tone followed by a busy or engaged tone.
Call Waiting

Activate: *43#
Cancel: #43#
Status: *#43#

To answer an incoming call waiting just hit the [SEND] key and your first caller will be put on hold and you can talk to the second caller. Alternatively you can hit [2][SEND].
To join both callers in a conference call, select the "join" or "conference" setting on your phone (not supported on all handsets).
If you wish to take the second call and are finished talking to the first caller then hit the [END] key and your phone will start ringing with the second caller and then hit [SEND] to answer the call. Alternatively you can hit [1][SEND].
If you do not wish to talk to the second caller and want to continue to talk to the first caller you can either choose to ignore the call waiting tone or hit [0][SEND].
Caller ID / Call Display

If you wish to either show or hide your phone number on outgoing calls then you may either set this on your phone's menu or manually enter the code before dialing. These codes will override whatever menu setting you have on a per-call basis.

Do not display: #31#[phone number]
Display: *31#[phone number]
Status: *#31#
North American GSM service providers also support the landline codes for this feature (these also work on CDMA and iDEN phones):
Do not display: *67[phone number]
Display: *82[phone number]
There are also codes to show or prevent incoming numbers from being shown on your handset if you subscribe to this feature. I'm not too sure why you'd want to do this, but just in case you do:
Do not display: #30#
Display: *30#
Status: *#30#
Call Barring

If you wish to restrict calls that can be made or received by your handset then this is referred to as "Call Barring". All Call Barring codes are specific to your network, so you'll have to ask your service provider what [code] to enter below:

Paragon Drive Copy Professional

Paragon Drive Copy Professional
  • RRP: US$49.95
Paragon is a well-known name for all hard drive-related software and offers a few different programs which can clone hard drives.
The one you’ll be most interested in is Drive Copy Professional. It costs £39.99 (US$49.95) and supports Windows 10.
For this you get the full set of cloning features, including the ability to copy to a smaller-capacity drive. One way it does this is by excluding certain files if there's not enough space, which saves you the job of slimming down the contents of your old disk manually.
Drive Copy also supports cloning to virtual machines so you can work with older apps which aren’t supported in Windows 10.
Find out more and download your copy on the Paragon website.

Acronis Disk Director 12

Acronis Disk Director 12
  • RRP: US$49.99
Acronis is another established name in cloning and backup. We’ve used its True Image software for years, but for cloning disks, you need Disk Director 12.
It costs £34.95/$49.99 from Acronis’ website, or £19.95/$29.99 if you’re upgrading from a previous version.
Disk Director offers three main features: partition management, volume recovery (undelete lost partitions) and – the one we’re concerned with – disk cloning.
Naturally, it supports Windows 10, and UEFI – the new name for the BIOS on modern PCs and laptops.
Disk Director is almost overkill if you only need to clone a disk, but it’s a very useful tool to have around for when you need to partition, resize and format drives in the future, and there are lots of advanced features such as splitting volumes and spanning them across multiple disks.
You can download a demo first to try it out before you buy.

Macrium Reflect Free v7

Macrium Reflect Free v7
  • RRP: Free
Like EaseUS below, Macrium isn’t specifically a cloning utility, but it does offer good cloning features even in the free version.
The interface is clean and modern and the wizard takes you through each step in Windows so you can choose exactly which partitions from the old disk you want to copy to the new one.
If your new drive is smaller than the old one, it’s still possible to clone it with Macrium as long as there’s enough space on the new one to store the amount of data on the old one.
By default, Reflect will use ‘Intelligent Sector Copy’ which essentially means it won’t copy blank space to the new drive. It also supports SSD TRIM and offers the option for a ‘forensic sector copy’ which forces it to copy every single sector to the new drive.
For a free product, Macrium is one of the best around.

EaseUS Todo Backup Free

EaseUS Todo Backup Free
  • RRP: Free
Although it’s primarily backup software, Todo Backup Free also includes a drive cloning feature. Given that it’s free, you’d expect it to be compromised, but that’s not really the case.
EaseUS supports Windows from XP up to Windows 10, UEFI boot, hardware RAID and all types of hard disks and SSDs.
There is one limitation: it won’t automatically clone a larger disk to a smaller one. That’s a feature that you’ll find in Partition Master Pro – EaseUS’ own tutorial suggests it’s possible in the free version of Partition Master, but it isn’t.

Clonezilla

Clonezilla
  • RRP: Free
Clonezilla has been around for a very long time, and differs from other cloning software here in that you must create a bootable USB drive in order to use it: it doesn’t run in Windows, so requires you to jump through a few extra hoops.
It does support BIOS and UEFI, and both MBR and GPT types of partition formats.
As with EaseUS, you can’t clone to a smaller-capacity drive than the source, so if you’re trying to migrate a Windows drive to your new SSD which has a smaller capacity, Clonezilla isn’t going to work for you.

magento blank checkout/cart/

Magento shopping cart empty error

This issue come due to the cookie problem, not in browser but in Magento itself.
As per default Magento, default cookie’s lifetime is set to 3600 (1 hour). But if the end users computer time runs ahead of server’s time, then cookies will not get set for magento frontend as well as backend. For example, end user’s computer time is 1 hour forward than server’s time, that means the cookie (holding user’s session id) will expire as soon as user logs in or tries to add an item.
To solve this issue, set cookie’s lifetime to 86400 (1 day) instead of 1 hour and everything will work as expected. You can also set cookie lifetime to 0, so that cookie will only expire when the user’s browser is closed.
Go to the admin panel: Sytem -> Configuration -> Web -> Session and Cookie Management Set cookie lifetime to 86400 and save. Functionality will work as expected.
If still you are facing the issue then check if there are two cookies are setting with same name: one for domainname.com and another for www.domainname.com. then need to change the cookie domain to www.domainname.com in Admin cookie settings, So that 2nd cookie disappeared and it will works as expected.

Remember to disable compiler, that solved for me too

Those above did not solve my problem

How to Equalize Your Computer (osx and windows) for iTunes, Spotify, and Everything Else

How to Equalize Your Computer for iTunes, Spotify, and Everything Else

Some people like to hear music precisely as it was recorded, which is why the most expensive audio equipment purports to do absolutely nothing to affect the original audio signal. Others like to tweak their sound. Whether you're on a Mac or PC, there's a way to set a global equalizer across everything—iTunes, browsers, Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, iHeartRadio, or whatever else you listen to.

Even your system sounds will be affected. If you're a sound-tweaker, this is important information, because it means you no longer have to hunt around for the equalizer that is missing from most of those apps anyway. The instructions vary based on whether you are on a Mac or a PC. Let's start with the PC.

On a Windows PC

Unfortunately, every Windows PC is a little different, and whether you have a built-in equalizer depends on your audio drivers. Here's what it looks like on my system, but if you don't see it, see if your sound card offers separate drivers or another audio tool that has an equalizer built-in. Many do, you just need to check your manufacturer's web site.
1. Open Sound ControlsGo to Start > Control Panel > Sounds. That looks like this on Windows 7:

2. Doubleclick the Active Sound DeviceYou have some music playing, right? If not, start some, using whatever application you want. Once it's playing, you'll see little green bars light up next to the thing that is playing your music. Double-click that.

3. Click EnhancementsNow you're in the control panel for output you use for music. Click the Enhancements tab to bring up a bunch of options:

4. Check the Equalizer boxLike so:

5. Choose a PresetWith some soundcards, you can access a graphic equalizer like the ones your Mac friends use. On my fairly standard HP box, you can only choose presets. To find out how they sound right as you select them, check "Immediate mode," and then start trying the presets:

If I were you, I'd try that "Custom" setting too; on my box, nothing happens, but I have seen evidence that it works on other Windows machines. Either way, you have now set an EQ setting globally, across your entire PC, once you hit the OK button.

On a Mac

The keys to this bit of musical magic are entirely free software: Soundflower from Cycling74, makers of the amazing Max/MSP software, which lets smart people build neat stuff (including an NES danceclub visualizer, a heartbeat-driven "Call Me Maybe" controller, a city-remixing taxicab, and invisible dubstep instruments); and AU Lab, from Apple itself.
Here's how to use Soundflower and AU Lab to control sound equalization globally:
1. Install SoundflowerThis part is easy—just grab the most recent .dmg file for your system. Click it after it downloads to install it, just as you would any other Mac software from the web.
2. Install AU LabNow, you'll need Apple's AU Lab software (.zip file).
3. Restart Your MacYou know the drill.
4. Turn Your Volume All The Way UpBefore you monkey around with the rest of this stuff, turn up the volume all the way with headphones plugged in. Then do it again without headphones plugged in. Once you complete this process, the volume will get controlled at the next part in the chain, so if you start out too quiet, you won't be able to get back to top volume.
5. Make Your Mac Output to SoundflowerThe beauty of Soundflower is that your Mac thinks it's an audio output, which, in a sense, it is. To set up your Mac to route all sounds to Soundflower, go to System Preferences > Sound, and choose the two-channel Soundflower option:

6. Make AU Lab Input from SoundflowerGo to Applications > Utilities, and double-click AU Lab to open the program. Now, you just need to set the input to Soundflower, like so, and then click Create Document:

7. Add EqualizationNow you can see under the hood of AU Lab, which can add a wide array of effects to your sound. Unless you want to experiment with the rest of them, proceed directly to AUGraphicEQ, and select it as an Effect in Audio 1.
8. Tweak ItAU Lab defaults to giving you 31 bands of equalization, which allows for fine tuning—probably too fine, for most purposes.
You'll probably want to switch to the 10-Band equalizer instead using that dropdown button to the lower left. Here's what that looks like with the bass frequency sliders dragged up for more low-end:

Sometimes this can make the sound a bit distorted, so instead of raising the bass, you could alternatively lower everything else instead, and turn up your volume. When you're done, you can save it as a preset like this:

Now, every sound your computermakes will be EQ-ed just how you like it. And if you followed Step 4, you'll still be able to use your volume keys to reach your Mac's top and bottom volume levels. (If you skipped that, you can go back and change it after the fact.)
Enjoy!
